I have some of them, mostly from the pre-2000, but I haven't used them in a long time =/

f

Hmm...

Anime & Samuel L. Jackson? An odd combination. The last one as far as I can recall was Hans Zimmer (of Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, fame) & Blood+

Looks interesting to watch. Will wait for the DVD release (if it will)

I've been an otaku for 7 years or so. Started calling myself one 3 years ago.

As for anyone minding about the term itself, yes, it has a bad reputation ever since the Miyazaki incident (no, not Hayao Miyazaki). I've avoided hearing the term term in public since it generates some bad press here in my country. I'm quite impressed at the young (and still thinking young) people who still use the term and end up not being offended by it.

otaku =! freak

Lots of new members signing in. Hard to keep track since I've been away from this forum for so long. -_-

Welcome aboard, and have fun! :)

What can I say about the Bountou arc? Well, since I first watched the first part of it, I was intrigued as to the identity of these newcomers. Turns out that they were (in the storyline) essential to Ishida's character development (as stated in the above posts). :nerd:

However, with each episode dragging each of the important characters, especially those from the Soul Society, I find it.. boring.

Wish they'd get to the point and end this arc quickly. >_>

KOTOKO - Resublimity

I can only point it to a few things: frustration, stress, all to keep up with "surviving" in the game.

Nothing much else I can say.

After watching I'm beginning to feel that people will start looking at people like us, a community of otakus who collect stuff for our hobbies and personal lives, in a new light.

Also, the is the first jDorama I got hooked on. Can't wait for more of this genre!

f

Thie first things that come to my mind right now are Philosophy and Religious Studies. (I'm currently enrolled in a Pre-Medicine Course, General Biology) I mean, do you need them when you enter med school and finally become a licensed practitioner of medicine? I find no point in having such subjects in the medical curriculum...

f

As long as the plot, characters, topic/issue, etc. interest me, then I'll continue to be into anime.

f

Unless the students really need a boost in their grades, and when the teacher feels that they should need it, students should be given homework on school holidays.

I've pickep up Blood+ and Mai-Otome from the list.

Also add in Canvas 2, Rozen Maiden Traumend, and Shakugan no Shana.

f

I've recently heard the new Bleach OP, and it rocks!

Sorry, can't put any words to describe it's goodness...

f

... until the island of Japan sinks to the ocean, or when they (the producers of anime) run out of ideas.

f

Hmm, I can't comment on the new themes, as of right now, like everyone else who's been watching subs from Lunar fansubs, I'm still in Episode 51.

f

You know, this brings back memories of when I first fell in love with Motoko (when Love Hina first aired on our local channel years ago). A strong-willed girl whose gentle side can make me feel for her.

I've grown over that now.

f

Yes, I do. I hate to admit it as a guy. >.<

However, I don't shed too much tears whenever a character that I can connect to dies. :(

f

Quote by lonniehave you read ai love you? if you have whats your favoret episode? if you havent then you should.

Nope, but I wish I have a copy of the manga. I was so eager to have it when I heard that it was from the same guy who created Love Hina (and now Negima). >.<

f

Thanks, NotT and ruminaOY! :)

f

My first manga? It's Pretty Face.

f

Haven't read the manga version like some of the folks here, but I have seen the anime version.

It's close to hentai as it gets (in my opinion, because we don't get to see the genitals), just without all the brutal stuff (bondage, rape, etc.) The main characters (forgetting their names right now) have a sweet relationship, that neither one would take avantage of the other's naiveness.

4 OVA's. Short, indeed.

f

How I watch? Well, it depends.

Part of it is because of the interesting, and sometimes engaging, storyline involved in the show. the other part is because of the drawing/animation styles used in making them. It's fascinating and interesting!

f

Now I just remembered that I haven't made an intro post before running around the forums. Oops.

Hi, everyone, I'm animeronin! I've been a fan of anime (and now manga) for about 7 years or so (recently for the latter).

I'm really interested in anime, its history, style, and art. I've always looked up to it as one of the wonders when artists and computer animation meet. So, if you ever have a question pertaining to anime, history and all, feel free to ask me, and I can point out various references that could help you answer the question (if any) in case I can't answer the question. I'm really willing to help people out.
